Welcome to the Fourth Grade!!
Fourth grade is a GREAT year! I am going to do everything I can to help you learn and grow as a student. Your job will be to come here in September ready to do everything YOU can to be the best student you can be. Wait until you see what you can accomplish when you really TRY YOUR BEST.
As for this summer, you are expected to have fun and enjoy yourself, that's for sure. But, it really does make a BIG difference if you keep your brain working during the summer as well.
Here's what you can do this summer to have a great start 4th grade:
1. READ! Read, read, read! I can't wait to share my love of books with you! There are so many good books out there so please don't force yourself to read a book that is BORING. Choose one that you can really get INTO! It doesn't have to be a chapter book. It can be a book about an athlete you look up to, or a hobby or activity you like to do.....your choice! Reading is the best way to become an amazing student.
2. Practice Math Facts! Nothing will help you more in math than memorizing your times tables. PLEASE work on this over the summer. Have a deck of flash cards in the car, use ST Math fluency for 10 minutes a day, use my website Math Fact Practice page and learn your facts!
